MUSKOKA-PARRY SOUND COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE
(funded by the Ministry of Health & Long Term Care)

Two positions exist for:

CORE PROGRAM ASSISTANT AREA MANAGERS

Purpose of Position: 

The Core Program Assistant Area Manager will provide clinical consultation, leadership and supervision for the day-to-day operations and ensure efficient operation of Community Outreach and Support Teams (including intensive case management and assertive community treatment). The position holds a combination of administration and clinical duties.

Position #1: Base Office: Parry Sound - Permanent full-time (28 hrs/wk)
Position #2: Base Office: Sundridge - Contractual full-time (28 hrs/wk) 4 month position with possibility of renewal for up to a further 9 months

If you have:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience providing assertive community treatment and case management to people with serious mental illness
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications
  • Experience providing clinical/administrative supervision
  • An understanding of the concept of Recovery and a willingness to work for its ongoing expression in the service system
  • Knowledge of current “better practice” in Assertive Community Treatment, case management, concurrent disorders, counseling/psychotherapy, crisis, developmental diagnosis and housing
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Willingness to participate in an after hours on-call system
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment in a rural setting
  • A valid driver’s license and, a safe and reliable means of transportation
  • Willingness to work days/evenings (including weekends and statutory holidays) and participate in a management on-call system
  • Experience with computers and Windows programs
  • Wages and benefits are competitive with hospital based programs
