Nursing and Professional Practice Officer

With a mandate that focuses on expert and compassionate care, this full-service community hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment and expansion project to create a state-of-the-art health-care facility. This $93-million project will lead change and provide a unique and comprehensive range of services that will further support the hospital’s commitment to excellent health care. The Position Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Nursing and Professional Practice Officer will be a pivotal member of a senior management team that puts patients first in “an environment that values excellence, fosters personal and professional development, and promotes open communication and mutual respect”. You will influence, and be accountable for, the planning, implementation and evaluation of strategies that will set the standard for more than 700 professionals at York Central Hospital. Working closely with Program Directors, Chief of Staff and other clinical staff and leaders, you will ensure that professional development and continuous learning are fundamental to York Central Hospital’s culture. By promoting research, education and best practices, you will expand on existing relationships and partnerships with other providers and community members in the Local Health Integrated Network (LHIN) as well as with our key educational partners – Ryerson University, York University and Seneca College. Experience With at least five years of clinical experience and three years in a managerial/leadership role, you have a highly developed ability to influence and inspire teams, drive strategic direction and create energy and enthusiasm for progressive change.
